History of the There Developer Showcase

I began hosting the monthly There Developer Showcase on and off for _Emma in the fall of 2006 and took over primary hosting duties in October of 2007. Dozens of There Developers participated in the showcase over the years. The showcase was an opportunity for anyone in world to see new designs from world famous designers like Francis_7, Greenie, ZachC and Banshee_Kate and brand new developers with only 1 or 2 items in world. Members could talk with designers about their work, make suggestions and requests and share about their favorite designers. The showcase gave new developers a chance to have their items seen by many members. The showcase would not have been a success without the constant participation of developers like DavyRocket, MikeCesar, Kasss, Neema and MeadowAngel. Also a big thanks goes out to Nema, EmmaJean and Maebee who often cohosted, modeled for designers and helped new designers get their displays set up and hosted when I had to travel. I hosted a lot of events in There over the years, but this is the only event I hosted regularly.

There was a reason for that. There Developers are what made the world a beautiful place, they made the items needed to make other events a success...they filled the canvas that the original There staff left mostly blank with amazing, creative designs for the membership to bring to life with equally amazing builds and events. From my very first design, experienced developers were always willing to provide feedback, give tips and support. Hosting the showcase was one way for me to return the favor.

There.com closed on March 9th, 2010. Which makes the February 2010 Showcase the last.
I wish all my fellow Therians well and a hope you all find a new home on the net. Developers, if you are designing someplace else now and let me know where, I'll add a "where are you now" post to the site to help members find you.
